Oven backing trays require high performing steel. Depending on the nature of baking tray, different products can be used.
Backing trays obtained with enamelling steels (Solfer® or Solfer®CA) are at the top of the range. Solfer®+ is suitable for the manufacture of complex parts (medium to deep drawing) and is compatible with absolutly all existing enamelling processes and enamel type. This grade offers excellent resistance to "fish scale" defects, as well as the best surface appearance after enamelling.
Solfer® CA grade is suitable for light to medium drawing and is compatible, after degreasing, with the two-coat / one-fire enamelling process using the wet/dry or dry/dry method. This steel grade can also be used for the ground enamelling process. It offers excellent resistance to "fish scale" defects.
Ready-to-Enamel is a surface functionalization that can be specified on all grades for enamelling, which significantly improves the formability for difficult parts and also allows to eliminate degreasing operation before enamelling.
Alusi® is a flat carbon steel product coated on both sides with an aluminium-silicon alloy. Alusi® is particularly suitable for applications requiring high resistance to oxidation at high temperatures. Up to 450°C, the top surface of the Alusi® coating does not alter and its thermal and light reflectivity remains at 80%, which is an important requirement for thermal shielding applications.
Blued steels provide protection against corrosion for parts whose surface cannot be protected by normal painting or any metallic coating processes. The magnetite layer can withstand moderate bending and drawing operations. The sheet surface is very clean and retains its attractive appearance during storage.
